In these black and white photos, Bob Dylan’s facial expressions reveal the honesty and integrity of his music. Very little is known about the concert other than the venue (Minneapolis Auditorium) and the date (November 5, 1965). Dylan’s U.S. Tour is a mystery even to Dylan-o-philes and there are no known tapes or set-lists for this particular performance. Anecdotal evidence tells us that Dylan and the Hawks played nine electric songs in this concert, and one contemporary report states that “Subterranean Homesick Blues” was played. Confirmation of these facts is difficult. However, there exists five/eight black and white photos of Bob Dylan in concert, and they are available only through F-Stop Productions.
What I remember about this Bob Dylan concert is that the place was really packed. And people everywhere were smoking, which I think helped to create a better look for the photos. --Bill Carlson
